Camp Greenwood

Part-time Spring and Full-Time Summer Program Director
  
Camp Greenwood has an opening for a part-time (10 hours per week, January - May) and full-time (June-August) for a Program Director. Interested persons may apply or gain additional information by contacting Greg Hoekman, Camp Director at office@campgreenwood.org or by calling Camp Greenwood at (231) 224-3059. Information about Camp Greenwood may be found at www.campgreenwood.org.
  
Position Purpose:
 
To further the mission of the camp through the planning and delivery of program activities and events;
Design and deliver christian based program activities that are safe, spiritually significant, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities.
Assist in the management of the overall camp operation at the direction of the camp director.
Direct and lead counselors and program support staff on a daily basis.
 
Education and Experience:
 
At least two years experience as a camp counselor or program director.
Previous experience teaching or leading youth groups.
Strong role model and christian values.
Theological or ministerial training strongly preferred.
Successful background check.
Must be able to obtain ACA qualifications for a Program Director

Volunteer Positions

  • Presbytery Nominating Committee is seeking individuals for various positions, click here to learn more.

  • Greenwood always needs volunteers to keep camp in good physical condition.  Help is needed with building and grounds maintenance.  Also, volunteers are needed to serve on the Greenwood Agency or to work with subcommittees of the agency in long range planning, fund raising, program development, marketing and publicity.  Contact Camp Director, Greg Hoekman (greghoekman@yahoo.com).

  • The Presbytery supports campus ministry programs at Michigan State, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo Valley Community College and at several schools in Downtown Grand Rapids.  The boards for these ministries consist of volunteers who oversee the ministry and also raise financial support.  More information can be found on our Campus Ministry page

  • Volunteers are needed to serve on the Youth Strategy Team which meets periodically by phone and in person to plan youth events and to develop opportunities for leadership development  for youth and their leaders, contact Brian Koon, b.koon@comcast.net
