The Encouragement Project The Encouragement Project of the Shepherding Ministry Team has received a one year grant from the Synod of the Covenant. Seven retired pastors and their spouses have been selected to serve as encouragers to pastors and their spouses who have relatively new calls in the presbytery. Encouragers will serve as trusted colleagues, sharing joys and concerns in a confidential relationship over meals and other means of contact. Unrelated to Committee on Ministry or other official presbytery relations, this project is based on doing random acts of kindness, inspired by the words of Paul in I Thess. 2:12b: "...encouraging, comforting, and urging you to live lives worthy of God who calls you into his kingdom and glory."
