Transformation – How do you know if it's for you?
1. You pray for more focus on ministry and mission
2. You pray for growth in spiritual formation
3. You pray for more worship attendance
4. You pray for unity (between members and other churches)
5. You pray for inspired and biblically literate members
6. You pray to find help in:
• Growing an outreach program
• Recruiting new members
• Assimilating new folk
• Recruiting new leaders
Transformation comes in different levels – here are three:
Level One – Making an existing program better
Level Two – Creating new programs / leaving old ones behind
Level Three – Creating a new congregation (same people, new outlooks)

Church Growth Committee
Mission: To strengthen the Body of Christ within the Presbytery of Lake Michigan through the support of evangelism, church transformation and new communities of faith.
Strategies:
1. Take steps to create a holistic and proactive vision for evangelism, church transformation and new communities of faith that faithfully shares the Gospel.
2. Explore and encourage new funds for the transformation of existing congregations and the development of new communities of faith.
3. Discover, encourage, affirm and equip pastors, sessions and laity in evangelism, church transformation and new communities of faith.
4. Provide help for pastors, sessions and lay leaders to understand their opportunities in the life and health of the whole body, especially as it relates to churches seeking
transformation and those wishing to start new faith communities.
5. Support events that would bring in professional speakers to address issues in the fields of evangelism, church transformation and new communities of faith.
6. Provide education, financial and spiritual help for pastors and church leaders to enable them to train the laity as leaders in evangelism, the transformation of churches
and the starting of new faith communities.
7. Engage with the Committee on Ministry in the cooperative shaping of a Triennial Visit whose preparation and process provides congregations and clergy with resources for
evangelism, church transformation and new communities of faith.
